Community
The Findhorn Hinterland Trust is committed to playing our part in fostering community connection through a variety of social activities on the land. It is our wish that these activities encourage a sense of connection with the land and with one another.
The FHT provides opportunities for people to meet, collaborate and learn through monthly work parties and weekly volunteering opportunities on the land. We also regularly host activities focussed on a specific area of the Hinterland; examples include lichen, beekeeping and the rich biodiversity of this place.
We offer a variety of larger events, including an annual May Day celebration at our maypole. At Christmas people from the community and the local area come to collect a Christmas tree harvested from the land while sharing refreshments and time around the fire.
The FHT is also committed to building and growing relationships with organisations across the wider community in the local area. We are regularly involved in public consultations and attend a number of events hosted by partner organisations, such as the Community Woodland Association.
